Sunday, October 20, 2019Signature Chamber Event

Lafayette Res Run for Education

The Lafayette Chamber and the City of Lafayette are co-sponsors of the Lafayette Res Run for Education which is traditionally held on a Sunday in October.

Beneficiaries of the event are the local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber.

The Run is the city’s most popular “family affair”, involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. Participants compete in a 10k or 5k certified runs and a 2 mile run/walk for fun through downtown Lafayette, around the reservoir (10k only) and back. Sprinters, walkers, the “stroller brigade” and many of Lafayette’s top four legged residents share the streets on that festive Sunday morning. Community Thanksgiving Breakfast

The Community Thanksgiving Breakfast is now SOLD OUT. Please call the office to be placed on the waitlist, (925) 284-7404.

About the Event:

We invite everyone! Politicos, non-profits, school representatives, business leaders, community leaders, Rotarians, our Chamber members, etc. to all come together to share in a breakfast and enjoy our special speaker.

Event starts at 7am and ends by 8:30am. Breakfast will be provided Lavash Mediterranean Restaurant and Catering.

Our speaker is Sean Perlmutter of Pivotal Twist with “The Strangers of Kindness.” In his 20 minute talk, Sean Perlmutter will discuss the challenges to kindness, why they need to be overcome, and how to make kindness a core part of your daily existence.

Ribbon Cutting at Microhair Aesthetics

Join Yolanda Trevino, owner of Microhair Aesthetics Thursday, December 5, from 5-8pm, to celebrate the grand opening of her permanent cosmetics clinic in Lafayette.

A ribbon cutting will be held at 5:00pm. It's a Wonderful Life in Lafayette

Free admission! This fun, family-friendly celebration includes visits with Santa, free train rides on the Lafayette Express, official holiday tree lighting ceremony, one-of-a-kind photo ops, live musical entertainment, kid’s crafts, holiday treats and more! Arrive early and plan to stay!

Festivities begin at 4pm when Santa is scheduled to parade along Golden Gate Way starting at the Lafayette Historical Society and arriving at Lafayette Plaza Park (corner of Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Moraga Road) at 4:30pm. A must-not-miss for the little ones!

The “It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette” event is presented by the Lafayette Chamber, and sponsored by local Lafayette Realtor The Dana Green Team and Branagh Development, who together are also hosting the environmentally-friendly downtown Lafayette twinkle lights for the 2019 Holiday Season.

It's the Chamber's Holiday Mixer! Please join us for a festive time with a few surprises in store! It's the mixer not to be missed! We extend a special invitation to our 2019 sponsors and community partners - come meet them and say Thank You!

Please bring a minimum of 3 cans/food donation for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Merrill Gardens is also collecting new toys for Toys for Tots and winter coats for those in need. No host bar, $5 beer and wine. Non-alcoholic options too!

Desserts provided by Merrill Gardens, holiday bites by local restaurants including Amarin Thai, Batch & Brine, Diablo Foods, Hideout Kitchen and Café, Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa, Locanda Positano, Mangia, Patxi's, Pizza Antica, Sideboard, The Coop 32 and Uncle Yu's.
