Chamber 2.0: 10 ways to Use Online Tools

Chamber 2.0: 10 Ways to use Online Tools to Leverage your Chamber Membership

Let’s face it: You joined the Chamber to grow your business, right? But you don’t have time to go to all the networking events every month, and even if you do, maybe you want to get more out of those efforts -- and faster! WELCOME TO CHAMBER 2.0! Today, the key is to leverage those traditional Chamber of Commerce networking opportunities with online tools. In this workshop, you’ll learn the top 10 simple ways to do that. It’s easier than you think - promise!

Speaker: Christina Alba, Lead Chiropractor of Rivulet Chiropractic, and the 2019 Lafayette Chamber Board President

About Christina:

After a career as a brand marketing consultant in San Francisco and New York City, Dr. Christina Alba wondered what more there could be to this life. So she decided to return to school to become a chiropractor. Why? Having benefitted from chiropractic care herself, her passion and goal is to give the gift of health and vitality to others, especially those who spend their time in the service of others. She has done humanitarian work in the Dominican Republic and in Mumbai, India. She looks forward to traveling next to Southeast Asia with her husband and fellow chiropractor, Dr. Brian Flannery. While she's not adjusting people and serving as this year's Chamber of Commerce Board President, she spends time embarrassing her three teenagers: the nerd boy, Gabe; Quin, the punk rocker; and Reeve, the loud artist.

Tuesday, March 19, 2019City of Lafayette

The Future of our Downtown Community Workshop

In February, the Lafayette City Council approved three strategic goals and five strategic objectives for 2019. One of the strategic objectives is to develop a strategy to expand City support of local businesses and commerce & to increase the vibrancy of downtown Lafayette. Mayor Burks and Councilmember Candell are assigned to work on this objective and their goal is to submit an action plan to the full City Council by the end of April. The action plan or road map will assist the Council in establishing the City’s work plans for the coming year(s).

A public meeting on March 19 will focus on receiving input from property owners, business owners and operators. This presents a welcome opportunity to share your thoughts on how the city can help you and your business to stay relevant in this changing retail climate. We invite you to join us in this discussion.

For more information, view the notes from the March 5 meeting, as well as the Staff Report.

Invite your social media staff for this interactive online discussion!

Facebook is the place where people catch up with friends online, find their news and entertainment and where smart business owners can find all the customers they need with the click of a button. However, navigating the platform, knowing what buttons to click and creating ads that actually bring customers in your doors with money in hand instead of frustrating you and draining your wallet can be challenging.

In this segment, Michael Pasha founder and creative director at Oceanview Digital will be joining us to discuss why the Facebook platform is your best option to grow your business. How to create ads that actually get customers to spend money with you and what so many businesses are doing wrong, which has caused them to have unsuccessful ad campaigns and give up on the endless rewards that an effective ad can bring.

Typical Questions About Facebook for Business When should you focus on social media posting and SEO instead of paid advertising? Why are Facebook ads better than other forms of advertising? What do business owners need to think about before putting together a Facebook ads campaign? What makes a successful ad campaign? What do you do when a client’s ad campaign isn’t working as expected? When should someone hire an ad agency vs to learn how to run ads themselves?
