AAUW's 5th Annual Tech Trek Shred-Fest fundraiser

Shred papers on site! $9 per file box.  Keep your boxes. Rain or Shine! Local volunteers unload your papers. All proceeds fund scholarships to send Lamorinda girls to AAUW’s STEM camp.

Pulverize Shred your sensitive personal, financial, medical, and business papers. A locally owned, East Bay shredding company, Shred•Defense Inc. (WBE), provides secure, state-of-the-art, HIPAA-compliant shredding right at the truck, on site at 5A Rent-a-Space, Moraga. Local volunteers unload papers to shred bins and return boxes to your car.

Cash or Checks accepted at shred site. All proceeds and welcomed donations help fund scholarships to send teacher-nominated Lamorinda girls to Tech Trek Science & Math Camp, on campus at Stanford University.

An afternoon of great music, dancing, BBQ, and FUN. Three terrific groups starting with Quake City Jug Band, a veteran jug band with snare drum, tap dancing, accordion, vocal harmonies, and feather boas, followed by The Stevens Sisters, an all female barbershop quartet made of 2 sets of sisters, and finishing with Dirty Cello, blues, bluegrass, and rock cello like you've never heard.

It's Lamorinda Arts Council's largest fundraiser of the year!  With an anticipated crowd of over 300 attendees, the event will host over 20 bartenders creating luscious craft cocktails competing for the Mixologist of the Year, Top Amateur, Audience Favorite and the Art of Staging Award (Table Decorating). Audience members sample over 20 craft cocktails and vote for their favorites.

The Lafayette Rotary Golf Classic at the Moraga Country Club is sponsored by Lafayette Rotary and will be held on October 15, 2018. Registration will open at 10am with use of the driving range. The event will begin at 12pm with a shotgun start and a box lunch.

Proceeds from The Lafayette Rotary Golf Classic are used to support a variety of charities in the San Francisco Bay Area and internationally. The tournament concludes at 4:30pm and participants can join us for cocktails and then dinner.

Lafayette Res Run for Education

The Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lafayette are co-sponsors of the Lafayette Res Run for Education which is traditionally held on a Sunday in October. Beneficiaries of the event are the local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber. The Run is the city’s most popular “family affair”, involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area.  

 

Participants compete in a 10k or 5k certified runs and a 2 mile run/walk for fun through downtown Lafayette, around the reservoir (10k only) and back. Sprinters, walkers, the “stroller brigade” and many of Lafayette’s top four legged residents share the streets on that festive Sunday morning. Don’t miss the live music and the Healthy Lifestyles Fair!
