Lafayette Chamber Fall Mixer: "Rocky Road" of Life!

Lafayette Chamber Fall Mixer: "Rocky Road" of Life!

Let's get through this "Rocky Road" of life ... together!

Join us for a "sweet" monthly mixer sprinkled with fun and information on our partnership with LPIE and how members can partner to support our schools and grow your business.  To help enjoy our socially distant time together, Chamber member and Local Food Adventures founder Lauren McCabe Herpich will take us through a mini version of her new Virtual Ice Cream Social experience and share the delicious history of Rocky Road ice cream, a flavor that was invented right here in the East Bay.

Besides enjoying “dessert” we will hear from LPIE Business Partner volunteer chair, Dave Smith, who will be leading a conversation on how we can engage our local businesses with the community. The remarkable support of our local businesses, restaurants, and real estate agents is one of the reasons why Lafayette is among the best places in the country to live, work, and learn.  LPIE, proudly celebrating their 40th anniversary, is proud to partner with our thriving community through their Business Partners Program.

For those who want to take part in the mix-in action, purchase a Sweets & Smiles Ice Cream Gift Box that includes everything to make your own Rocky Road ice cream during our mixer. Lauren will be donating $1 from every box purchased from our event back to LPIE. To order, click here.

Register for the mixer using Zoom link below.

About Local Food Adventures
Lafayette Chamber member Local Food Adventures provides guided walking tours and private food experiences throughout Oakland and the East Bay, including a private Eat Stay Love Lafayette Food Tour great for businesses to entertain clients and strengthen relationships. Due to COVID, it has expanded its offerings with its new Virtual Ice Cream Social private group event and its Local Love Gift Boxes, curated collections of culinary items highlighting local small businesses  including Diablo Foods, Amphora Lafayette and The Nut Factory here in Lafayette.

Since her very first tour, founder and Lafayette mom Lauren McCabe Herpich has donated a percentage of every tour ticket sold to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. She also supports other non-profits like East Bay FeedER and LPIE, which she will support with a $1 donation for every Sweets & Smiles Box sold for our Chamber Mixer in October.

About LPIE
LPIE is a community-based education foundation run by a board and small staff working to enhance and expand the educational opportunities for students in Lafayette’s six public schools: Burton Valley, Happy Valley, Lafayette and Springhill Elementary Schools, Stanley Middle School and Acalanes High School. Their mission is to support and enrich the education of every child in the Lafayette public schools.

They do this by funding instruction in art, science, music, writing, and social studies.  Working directly with the districts (LAFSD/AUHSD) to identify areas for investment in core academics and enrichment, LPIE supports programs and efforts that might otherwise go unfunded.

“We are very impressed with your Chamber. We have been members of other Chambers over the years and it’s been nothing like the experiences we’re having right out of the gate with your organization. Thank you for your great communication, follow up, and professionalism.”
– Peter Dewey, Bayview Painting

“I couldn’t have asked for a better resource than the Chamber, as I was establishing my medical practice in Lafayette. AJ, Holly, and Sara were so responsive to my questions and gave me many ideas on networking in the community. They host several events that foster community building. I honestly cannot imagine a more robust, active, and friendly chamber as this. I’m a member for life!”
– Cheruba Prabakar, Lamorinda Gynecology & Surgery

“WE LOVE THE CHAMBER! Batch and Brine has been a member of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce for almost six years. We value and appreciate the incredible amount of work this organization produces for our community through many events and support for each business. The networking and education of information that’s spilled out weekly for the business community is impressive. They are a helping hand in so many ways for our business community and beyond. We couldn’t be part of this community without being part of the chamber. Lafayette Chamber is one of the best organizations we’ve worked with, so don’t think twice about it, join the Chamber!” – Rolla Ghaben, Batch & Brine

“The Chamber was instrumental in helping us open 14 years ago. The staff went out of their way to help us make connections and ensure we were successful. We would not be where we are today without the Chamber!”
– John & Colleen McCormick, Lamorinda Music
