At a young age, Chari was already immersed in the Art world since her mom was a docent at Don Sergio Osmena's art gallery. As an avid traveller, Chari visited art galleries in Europe, attended art festivals in Mexico, and supported local artists.

Since our founding in 1974, Cal Shakes has grown into an award-winning theater company, educational initiative, amphitheater venue, and scene shop. Today, Cal Shakes has served more than 50,000 youth from low income communities throughout Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.
