The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce has been partnering with SCORE for over 15 years. We welcome our chamber members and community members to schedule a complimentary meeting with a SCORE representative on Tuesdays between the hours of 1:30pm-4:00pm in our Chamber office at 251 Lafayette Circle, Ste 150. 

Mike Harris is our in-house SCORE counselor. Mike earned a BS with an emphasis on electronics from Stevens Institute of Technology and an MBA from Santa Clara University. After a few years in engineering, Mike spent most of his career in high tech marketing and operations management. While continuing to work in electronics he helped manage his family retail business. After retiring from his career in electronics, Mike began working with small businesses helping them obtain working capital loans. Besides mentoring, Mike helps present SCORE business plans and financial planning workshops.

Lafayette Business Women will meet at HOLISTIKA Wednesday, July 17, 2024, 5:15pm-6:30pm. Register below for the July gathering. No cost for Lafayette Chamber members.  Guests welcome to attend the first meeting for free, then we encourage guests to join the Lafayette Chamber or pay the $20 guest fee during registration. Immediately following this July meeting at Holistika, stick around for a gentle Yoga class designed to release tension in your body and relax your mind. Cost for the class is $10, register here for the class. Holistika will be offering Gentle Yoga with Valorie Moore, Yoga Village, a Private Event for Lafayette Chamber's Lafayette Business Women 6:30pm-7:30pm. Bring your yoga mat and water bottle, they have a select few mats to borrow. If you are a new Lafayette Chamber member, new owner or employee in an already existing member business join us for a Meet & Greet.

We offer New Member Meet + Greets twice a month here at our Chamber offices, the 2nd Tuesday at 10am and the 4th Wednesday at 3pm. We are located at 251 Lafayette Circle Ste 150, Lafayette CA 94549.

BEASTS OF THE BAY STRENGTH

Big Tommy Burns and Beasts Of The Bay Strength has been a pillar in Bay Area strength athletics since 2016. Whether it’s been building the strongman scene and running strongman competitions, partnering with gym owners to run trainings and coach from their facilities or joining forces with local school systems and organizations to teach and train their students how to tap into personal strength and direct it to become an asset in their lives, Big Tommy Burns and Beasts Of The Bay Strength has done it all.  

After almost a decade of working, supporting and building we are happy to announce that the dream of owning a facility for the work of Beasts Of The Bay Strength is now our reality.

With all of these experiences over the last decade plus, Big Tommy Burns and the Beasts Of The Bay Strength team is proud to serve the Bay Area at another level in health & wellness with their unique focus on strength, fitness & fasting protocols.

WPE—the food recovery organization serving Contra Costa County—recently moved to new headquarters. To help celebrate this exciting chapter, we would like to invite you to join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 23rd at 3:30pm. The event will be held at our new location: 2470 Bates Avenue in Concord, CA. REGISTER HERE

Our new location includes features that enhance and enlarge WPE’s food recovery operation. Notably, it offers five times our current refrigeration and freezer capacity, including racks and forklift access through rolling doors. The facility also provides a more efficient, safe, and expanded space for our team to receive and process fresh, nutritious food for immediate delivery. You can read more about our move in an article recently published in the East Bay Times.

Demand for WPE’s fresh food deliveries has grown exponentially. Today we are one of the most active food recovery organizations in the State and this year we launched the statewide CA Food Recovery Coalition. WPE provides healthy food to 98 community-based organizations; rescues food from 75 grocers, distributors, farmers, and restaurants; deploys 700 volunteers; and generates thousands of hours of service among corporate community partners. We have adapted to our community's needs and now serve over 125,000 individuals each year, while significantly contributing to the elimination of food waste and harmful GHG emissions.
