What, Why, and How of a 2-page Strategic Plan

Nearly 90% of nonprofits and small businesses spend less than one hour per month discussing strategy, with 50% spending no time at all -- it is time-consuming, requires tremendous coordination, and often sits unread, buried in a binder, without any real outcomes. It does not have to be this way!  A solid, actionable strategy can come alive in two pages and can have a profound, measurable impact on your organization, board, donors, and clients.  Please join me for the what, why, and how of a 2-page strategic plan that will make your life, and your role, so much more enjoyable.  I welcome pre-questions and scenarios (will be anonymous) to help shape a more relevant session.

10:05 AM – 10:10 AM : BREAK

10:10 AM – 11:00 AM : Roots and Wings Legal, P.C. - Yuki Ku (50 min)

The Hidden Gem of Fundraising: How Legacy Giving Can Transform Your Nonprofit’s Future

Most nonprofits focus on annual giving, major gifts, and grants—but legacy giving is the most overlooked, untapped source of sustainable funding. The reality? Your most committed donors WANT to give more, but they don’t know how. In this session, Yuki Ku, Legacy Strategist & Business and Family Wealth Attorney, will uncover the key donor engagement strategies that nonprofits can use to:

  • Attract high-net-worth donors who want to create a lasting impact
  • Integrate legacy giving into your fundraising efforts without overwhelming your team
  • Break the taboo of estate gifts and have meaningful donor conversations
  • Unlock tax-smart giving strategies that benefit both donors and your organization

If you’re serious about long-term financial sustainability, this session will change the way you approach fundraising forever.

11:00 AM – 11:05 AM : BREAK

11:05 AM – 11:50 PM : Non-Profit Consulting - Alan Koenigsberg (45 min)

“We are very impressed with your Chamber. We have been members of other Chambers over the years and it’s been nothing like the experiences we’re having right out of the gate with your organization. Thank you for your great communication, follow up, and professionalism.”
– Peter Dewey, Bayview Painting

“I couldn’t have asked for a better resource than the Chamber, as I was establishing my medical practice in Lafayette. AJ, Holly, and Sara were so responsive to my questions and gave me many ideas on networking in the community. They host several events that foster community building. I honestly cannot imagine a more robust, active, and friendly chamber as this. I’m a member for life!”
– Cheruba Prabakar, Lamorinda Gynecology & Surgery

“WE LOVE THE CHAMBER! Batch and Brine has been a member of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce for almost six years. We value and appreciate the incredible amount of work this organization produces for our community through many events and support for each business. The networking and education of information that’s spilled out weekly for the business community is impressive. They are a helping hand in so many ways for our business community and beyond. We couldn’t be part of this community without being part of the chamber. Lafayette Chamber is one of the best organizations we’ve worked with, so don’t think twice about it, join the Chamber!” – Rolla Ghaben, Batch & Brine

“The Chamber was instrumental in helping us open 14 years ago. The staff went out of their way to help us make connections and ensure we were successful. We would not be where we are today without the Chamber!”
– John & Colleen McCormick, Lamorinda Music
