Las Trampas has a longstanding, rich history of providing services to people with developmental disabilities and their families. Founded in 1958 as a non-profit residential school by parents, family, and community members, Las Trampas School, Inc. provided on-site residential and educational services to children with developmental disabilities. The school was named for the creek that runs through the beautiful, two-and-a-half acre property in Lafayette, California. As the children grew into adulthood, along with progressive changes in service necessities, Las Trampas changed its mission to provide services to adults with developmental disabilities.

Currently, Las Trampas provides day program educational and vocational services, residential services, supported and independent living services throughout Central and Eastern Contra Costa County, California.

Mindful Littles is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to making compassion a habit. Our experiential education programs cultivate socially conscious, resilient students, communities and corporate leaders. We teach empathy building skills and compassion habits, and create opportunities to put those lessons into practice in service of a nonprofit or cause. The more you feel good, the more you do good and vice versa. As we repeat the cycle, compassion becomes a habit, and the positive benefits continue to ripple and grow. We serve communities throughout the country, specializing in areas impacted by natural disasters, including several in Northern California coping with emotional trauma after wildfires.

Mobility Matters provides mobility management services throughout Contra Costa County by matching riders to transportation providers that meet their individual needs. Mobility Matters operates a trained volunteer driver program that provides free, one-on-one, door-through-door rides for seniors and disabled veterans who cannot access other forms of transportation.

Our overall goal is to see that the programs and services we offer contribute to our clients’ primary goal, which is to age in their own homes with the support they need. We are significantly increasing our clients’ opportunities for healthy aging by providing our services to them, especially escorted rides to obtain the clinical care they need, as well as the basic necessities of life. As a result, our clients experience improved health status through access to preventative health care, medical, mental health, dental appointments, surgery, prescribed medications, and proper nutrition along with exercise.

For more information or to become a volunteer driver find us at www.mobilitymatterscc.com or call us at (925)284-2207.

The “Essentials of Our Faith” document compiled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) distills from the Westminster Confession core beliefs of the Christian faith common to believers and churches throughout the world. MVPC affirms these essentials to be, truly, essential statements of faith. We also agree with the EPC motto: In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.

“We are very impressed with your Chamber. We have been members of other Chambers over the years and it’s been nothing like the experiences we’re having right out of the gate with your organization. Thank you for your great communication, follow up, and professionalism.”
– Peter Dewey, Bayview Painting

“I couldn’t have asked for a better resource than the Chamber, as I was establishing my medical practice in Lafayette. AJ, Holly, and Sara were so responsive to my questions and gave me many ideas on networking in the community. They host several events that foster community building. I honestly cannot imagine a more robust, active, and friendly chamber as this. I’m a member for life!”
– Cheruba Prabakar, Lamorinda Gynecology & Surgery

“WE LOVE THE CHAMBER! Batch and Brine has been a member of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce for almost six years. We value and appreciate the incredible amount of work this organization produces for our community through many events and support for each business. The networking and education of information that’s spilled out weekly for the business community is impressive. They are a helping hand in so many ways for our business community and beyond. We couldn’t be part of this community without being part of the chamber. Lafayette Chamber is one of the best organizations we’ve worked with, so don’t think twice about it, join the Chamber!” – Rolla Ghaben, Batch & Brine

“The Chamber was instrumental in helping us open 14 years ago. The staff went out of their way to help us make connections and ensure we were successful. We would not be where we are today without the Chamber!”
– John & Colleen McCormick, Lamorinda Music
